Gift ideas to conquer 2021.

2020 was a doozy, right?

For some it was, and for many it was also the most transformative year of their life. When we hit the rough patches we often learn the most about how we can maneuver to get back on track. So many people dug deep this year. Not necessarily by choice, but definitely out of necessity and now looking back, there are so many things lost that probably needed to go (ego, hectic schedules, toxic connections, grief, self defeating habits, unrealistic expectations, etc.), but there were so many other things gained. Maybe you learned to sit with yourself, slow down, give yourself grace and learn about your needs and how to meet them rather than living with the resentments of abandoning them for the external world?

For those who had a chance to embark on the journey of self discovery this year, you know what I’m talking about. And…just like any “Jilly Box” recommendation from all the buzz influencers out there, wouldn’t you want your friends and loved ones to have the same? Perfect. So here’s a list of ideas that can help them embark on a self soul searching journey.

Books or Audiobooks:
-Brene Brown - anything by her
-Gabby Bernstein - anything that speaks to you - her books will pick you
-Untamed - Glennon Doyle. All hail the empowered women!
-Greenlights - by Matthew McConaughey
-Do Less - Kate Northrup - this is great for the over-productive, busy woman
-Audible membership - 1 book/month for a year
-Chapter’s GC
…these are just some suggestions to get started with

FitBit - this gadget is great at getting people moving, tracking their food and sleep and overall sense of self awareness (heartrate, steps, etc)

Crystals and Gems - there are so many beautiful qualities to healing stones and how people can use them to ground, calm, increase intuition, self love, etc. I love Soul Stones in Kamloops, BC but find somewhere local in your hometown to get yours

Essential Oils - again, there are lots of helpful oils out there to create calming spaces and tend to various conditions or complaints people might have (muscle aches, headaches, anxiety, etc). This can be an extra tool for them

Salt Lamp - These are dreamy, create the best ambiance and have air quality benefits, and also are said to enhance sleep and mood.

Bath Soaks + Candles - creating cleansing rituals ( Full moon baths, etc) might be something they would like to treat themselves too…and who doesn’t love a great bath! There are often many local artisans that created blessed bath soaks, but you can also create your own with sea salts, epsom salts, Himalayan salts and some oils.

Journals - journalling is one of the best ways we can calm our minds, release our worries and set intentions. It is essentially one of the best ways to listening to our truest self. By a gratitude journal to encourage more mindful and joyful mindset or a blank journal with a beautiful note from yourself in it.

Outdoor activities - GC for ski hills, hiking shoes, bikes, snow shoes, etc. Get them outside…get them connecting to our biggest energy source: Mother Nature.

Counselling GC - money towards counselling/healing sessions or to my “I am the One” program running again in the New Year.

I hope this was a helpful guide to make this year’s gift giving more intentional to a healthier and more mindful, growth focused 2021.

Happy Holidays Friends,
Jolene Dawn
