Inspiration comes from within — and I’m here to help you activate it.
Meet Jolene
Hi, I’m Jolene! I am a Registered Social Worker (BCCSW #09027; ACSW #16988) with a Master’s Degree from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Thompson Rivers University. I am grateful to have been practicing in the Kamloops, B.C. area since 2006. I acknowledge that I live and work on the traditional lands of the Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwépemc'ulucw, the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc and am honoured to share incredible connections with the Indigenous communities across BC that I serve in this line of work.
I am trained in various counselling treatment modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Observed and Experiential Integration (OEI) trauma treatments, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I have substantial training and experience working with Indigenous Populations, Intergenerational Healing, Suicide Prevention and Awareness, Mental Heath and Substance Use disorders across the age spectrum.
My practice is holistically enhanced with intuitive counselling approaches and energy healing. I am trained in Usui Holy Fire Reiki, Levels I, II and III (Master) . This energy healing compliments and enhances the trauma therapy process by supporting your entire system during these transformative releases. This approach also fosters growth in your connection with your intuition and soul’s guidance so you can strive to uncover and heal what blocks you from achieving your greatness and highest potential.
My own journey of healing was essentially awakened by the suicide death of my father when I was 17 years old. Looking back, many of the wounds I have tended to in my adult life originate from well before that event, but I often mark that traumatic loss as a turning point that lead me to the path I’m on today. Through trials and triumphs, I have blended the lessons and teachings from both my personal and professional lives to create a balanced and integrated version of ME. I am driven by the desire to continually evolve and am committed to follow my calling to my highest potential while assisting others to do the same. In my work as a counsellor I have been privileged enough to help others navigate the depths of their shadows, helping them to heal the wounds and traumas that are holding them back in their lives, be it themselves, their relationships, careers, families or future inspirations. I am truly grateful to be lead by my intuition and life purpose and hope I can help other’s achieve the same.
If my work speaks to you and you feel called to embark on this healing journey, I am honoured to accompany you on the path to your most loving and accepting relationship with yourself.
You are worth this.
